Experience the history and heritage of the Amish, Mennonites, and Hutterites. Travel through five centuries of fascinating history, from their origins in Switzerland to their arrival in America. History unfolds as you explore a 17th century sailing ship and replicas of a 19th century print shop and meeting house. Experience the simulation of a tornado as the wind blows and the theatre shakes. And, finally, see The Amish Room - set up like the inside of an Amish house.

The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and is interactive with hands-on activities suitable for all ages. Tours begin approximately every 15 minutes. The last tour begins at 3:45 p.m.

Directions.

Menno-Hof is located at 510 South Van Buren (State Road 5) in Shipshewana, Indiana. Shipshewana's claim to fame is the largest outdoor flea market in the Midwest with over one thousand vendor spaces. Menno-Hof is located opposite the flea market area.

A small rural town of just over 900 people, Shipshewana is home to three banks, a grocery store, two hardware stores, a department store, a lumber company, a dozen restaurants and cafes, two bakeries, and approximately 70 other unique shops within walking distance of the flea market. Shipshewana is located in the heart of the third largest Amish community in the world.
